And now, Arizona is paying the price.
DOGE’s latest cuts are hitting our wildfire firefighters hard—putting their jobs and our safety at risk. These brave men and women, who put their lives on the line to protect us from devastating wildfires, are now left wondering if they’ll have jobs next week. Even worse, these cuts are limiting the ability to hire new recruits at a time when wildfires are growing more dangerous every year due to rising temperatures.
These firefighters are the backbone of Arizona’s natural beauty. The stunning desert landscapes and lush forests that Arizonans and visitors alike treasure are only preserved because of their work. Without them, our state’s natural treasures are in jeopardy.
Luckily, we have Attorney General Mayes on the prowl. She has been leading the charge, filing lawsuits and traveling across the state to assess the damage from these cuts firsthand. She’s standing up to this reckless administration—but she can’t do it alone.
