The flood of news every day leaves us feeling hopeless and powerless: Elon Musk and teenaged weirdos gaining access to your secret tax information. Bigots and people with sexual assault records being put in charge of government departments. Research halted, support payments halted - confusion and chaos everywhere.

But it’s not in us to give up. I didn’t give up when I was knocked down by some personal tragedy - including the recent death of my husband. When I worked for gun safety, I don’t see any quit in any of these victims of gun violence and their families willing to stand up to power.
