Dear John,
It’s hard to believe it, but just last June we made history together as the Supreme Court announced our landmark victory for the Bladensburg Peace Cross.
As big as overturning the “Lemon Test” was—who could have predicted that less than a year later, the simple act of going to worship services would be considered a “criminal act” by power-hungry politicians who’ve unmasked their deep disdain for people of faith like you and me.
And yet, here we are, still “standing strong”—just like the Peace Cross. However, unlike Bladensburg, this current battle over the “new normal” is far, far from over.
What’s at stake right now is more than just a cure for a virus. It’s the emergence of a historic constitutional crisis whose ramifications could be just as deadly for the future of religious freedom in America.
For decades, I have told all who would listen that if our churches and houses of worship can’t win in court—if our faith falls from being our First Freedom to becoming a “second-class” right—or no right at all—then every other freedom we hold dear is in jeopardy, too.
If you thought the “old normal” was bad...the blatant and open hostility that’s happening right now from abusive and out of control politicians is just the beginning of the “new normal”, especially now with the election looming just a few months down the road.
Fortunately, thanks to your generous support, First Liberty continues to be the tip of the spear! We’ve won every single one of our COVID-19 cases to date—and we’re going to KEEP ON WINNING provided God continues to grant us favor and we have the resources necessary to keep fighting on the frontlines.
As our churches struggle to re-open right now—while facing police raids, excessive fines and even arson—it’s time we double-down for the rest of 2020!
Back in January, I told you that we had the opportunity to reclaim MORE religious freedom than we’ve ever experienced in our lifetimes.
Today, we MUST fight even harder to protect and defend religious liberty so our children and grandchildren will stand a chance to experience it in theirs.
With God’s favor, we will continue to win as one—together!
Thank you for steadfast support through these trying months. We are sincerely honored and humbled by your prayers, calls and timely notes of encouragement. We couldn’t do it without you.
Yes, I will make a gift today!
Gratefully, Kelly
