Stay safe in freezing temperatures with these winter weather tips
The Washington State Department of Health urges residents to take precautions to stay safe this week as our state experiences its first serious cold snap this winter.
Most of the state will experience dangerously low temperatures that can lead to hypothermia, frostbite, and other health issues. These risks are especially high for people working outdoors, those without shelter or adequate heating, older adults, and pets.
Many cities and counties are [ [link removed] ]opening warming centers [ [link removed] ] or extending their hours. For a list of available shelters, visit [ [link removed] ]wa211.org [ [link removed] ] or call 211.
