The race for control over the Wisconsin Supreme Court is heating up.
Associated Press: Ad wars begin in closely watched Wisconsin Supreme Court race
The GOP-backed candidate in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, Judge Brad Schimel, launched a $1.4 million ad campaign last month.
Schimel, who’s supported the state’s extreme 1849 abortion ban and defended egregiously gerrymandered maps in court, is facing off against Judge Susan Crawford. We endorsed her as our latest Democracy Defender because she has fought to protect our freedoms, including voting rights and abortion rights, and she has shown on the bench that she’s a fair, impartial public servant.
This battleground race will decide whether we preserve our hard-won, pro-democracy majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Can we count on you to chip in right now and help elect Democracy Defenders like Judge Crawford across the country? [[link removed]]

A far-right state supreme court could threaten democracy in Wisconsin, unleash destruction on the voting process, and rule in favor of gerrymandered maps. Clearly, this is a must-win race with serious implications for fair maps, free elections, and our fundamental freedoms.
Republicans have made it clear they’ll spare no expense to try and secure this seat. In fact, Schimel was reportedly on track to outspend Judge Crawford on the airwaves through February 3. With stakes this high, we’re counting on grassroots supporters like you to help fight back against the extremist Republican forces that want to wreak havoc on our democracy.
So please make a gift to help get pro-democracy candidates over the finish line, and help keep places like the Wisconsin Supreme Court out of extremist hands. [[link removed]]
