Today, long-time Illinois Democrat leader and political kingpin Mike Madigan was found guilty on 10 counts, including bribery and wire fraud. This verdict confirms what we’ve known for decades: Illinois Democrats have built their power on a corrupt machine that served their interests at the expense of hardworking taxpayers.

For more than 50 years, Madigan’s influence shaped Illinois politics, enriching his allies and punishing anyone who dared to oppose him. Nearly every Democrat in Illinois has benefitted from Madigan’s corruption, and they’ve all been willing to sell their souls for hefty donations and the support of the political machine he built. Today’s Democrat Party is built on a foundation of corruption which deprives all Illinoisians of good governance. 

But enough is enough.
