[1]Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Congress
I got this question on Instagram the other night:
[1]Question from AOC's Instagram: How long is it likely going to take for
the executive orders to get overturned?
Let me give you some good news: The courts are already starting to roll in
the injunctions.
For people that are saying, “Oh, you can't do that, that's illegal. It's
not helpful” — I hear you and understand that.
But it is important to understand that the courts are doing their work,
and it is having an effect.
The birthright citizenship executive order was halted in the courts.
Importantly, the AFL-CIO issued a lawsuit around Elon Musk's invasion into
these federal departments — including the Department of Labor — and the
courts issued a pause.
And so this raiding of federal government agencies has come to a pause.
There's still damage done — but it's stopped for now, which is a step.
But our movement for real progress will have to push harder than ever
these next four years.
