Hey, Jamie Pedersen, “out of context!” isn’t the defense you think it is…

Democrat State Sen. Jamie Pedersen: “It’s Not My Fault, It’s the Law!”

After getting roasted for saying 13-year-olds have a “complete right” to mental health care decisions without parental consent, Sen. Jamie Pedersen is now crying “out of context!” His brilliant defense? He was just quoting a decades-old law, not giving his opinion—because apparently, Democratic lawmakers are just powerless bystanders to the laws they uphold and expand.

Pedersen conveniently ignored that his party just passed a bill making it even harder for parents to access their kids’ school medical records. But sure, he’s totally neutral on the issue. Instead of owning up to his extreme position, he’s blaming the media for making him look bad—never mind that his words were perfectly clear.

Meanwhile, Republicans (and even Elon Musk) are pointing out the obvious: Democrats want the government, not parents, in charge of raising kids. If Pedersen really thinks this law needs changing, maybe he should introduce a bill instead of hiding behind excuses. Or is deflecting responsibility just standard operating procedure for Washington Democrats? Read more at King 5.

Seattle Media: Protecting Criminals, One Activist Press Release at a Time

Seattle’s liberal media is once again running PR for open-border activists, helping them disrupt ICE raids that target dangerous criminals. As KTTH’s Jason Rantz reports, instead of exposing the serious crimes committed by these repeat offenders, The Seattle Times and The Tri-City Herald amplify groups working to make ICE’s job harder. One recent ICE arrest? A man charged with lewd acts on a child under 14—hardly the “vulnerable” immigrant activists claim to protect. These activist-backed guides even encourage bystanders to harass ICE agents mid-raid, because apparently, filming law enforcement is more important than public safety. Nowhere do these outlets admit that ICE is removing criminals who have been deported multiple times—because that would disrupt their preferred narrative. The message? Helping deport violent offenders is bad, but helping them evade justice is noble. At this point, they’re not reporting the news; they’re just reprinting activist talking points. Republicans Take Action: A Real Plan to Fix Washington’s Failing Schools

With student achievement tanking and chronic absenteeism doubling, Republicans are stepping up with a serious plan to turn things around. GOP State Rep. Michael Keaton’s HB 1832 aims to reward schools for academic improvement, provide funding for reading coaches, and introduce proven methods like Singapore math to boost problem-solving skills. Unlike the endless excuses from Democrats, this bill actually focuses on getting kids back on track—because learning loss won’t fix itself. Keaton’s bill also ensures struggling third-graders and their parents get the support they need before it’s too late. Education experts agree: early intervention and higher standards are the keys to real progress. The message is clear—Republicans want students to succeed, not just be shuffled through a broken system. Washington families deserve better, and HB 1832 is a step in the right direction. Now, will Democrats put politics aside and do what’s best for kids? Read more at Center Square.

Washington Democrats Push Race-Based Housing Giveaway, Dodge Legal Questions

Democrats are doubling down on their racially exclusive housing program, now pushing a bill to expand eligibility and forgive loans outright—because who needs accountability? The Covenant Home Ownership Program, already facing lawsuits, hands out zero-interest loans based on ancestry, not need, funded by fees on real estate documents. Republicans, rightfully skeptical, asked if outright loan forgiveness violates state laws against gifting public funds—only to be met with blank stares and deflections. When Rep. Jeremie Dufault pressed for proof that applicants were personally impacted by past discrimination, he was told simply being part of a racial class before 1968 was enough. Translation? No actual proof required, just the right ancestry. And when Dufault questioned the bill’s constitutionality, Democrats cut him off—because who needs legal scrutiny when you can push feel-good politics? This isn’t about fixing discrimination; it’s about picking winners and losers based on race. Instead of making housing more affordable for everyone, Democrats would rather play identity politics and ignore the real issues hurting homebuyers today. Read more at Center Square.
