We don’t have a “Please and Thank You” foreign policy in this country. Trump wants to bring production back to the U.S. and a “Please and Thank You” foreign policy will not be enough to incentivize companies and nations to produce here or to treat American products fairly abroad.
The *only* alternative to tariffs is to continue doing what we’ve been doing for the past 30 years. Newsflash: It’s not working. No one wants higher prices. I don’t believe it will come to that. But Trump has a plan. It appears reasonable to me and we will find out sooner than later if his bet was worth it. I’m rooting that it is and that we can make America great again.
