Hi folks, it’s Ghazala Hashmi, the Democrat running for Lt. Gov of Virginia. 

In recent weeks, I’ve been traveling across our commonwealth meeting with Virginians to learn about the issues they’re facing, and the energy and excitement are palpable. 

Here are a few of the highlights:

I’ve met with local Democratic parties in Orange County, Hanover, Fairfax and Northern Neck and we talked about the stakes in this year’s elections and what we can do to ensure Democrats win across the board.

I stopped by the Mid-Atlantic Plumbers and Steamfitters Union apprentice competition in Richmond, and I got to talk with union members about what I’ll do to prevent wage theft, expand collective bargaining, and create more good union jobs across VA.

I joined Virginia’s 12 On Your Side to talk about my work during the legislative session on clean energy, protecting access to contraception, and funding our schools — and to talk about how I’ll go even further when I am Lieutenant Governor.

While all of this has been happening, I have been proud to receive several exciting endorsements for my campaign—from Virginia’s List, the only group solely dedicated to electing Democratic Women in Virginia; Ravi Chaudhary, the former Assistant Secretary of the Air Force; and the National Association of Social Workers.

I’ve been busy, folks, but I will never tire of fighting for Virginia, talking with constituents, and working hard to get things done for the Commonwealth.
