Dear Friends,

The Trump administration’s unprecedented assault on our federal workforce is arbitrary, cruel, and unfair to people who committed their careers to public service, many of whom are veterans. It hits our region incredibly hard because we all have friends, neighbors, or family members who work for the federal government.

I am committed to helping those who have been fired in Trump’s purges and those who haven’t lost their jobs but are looking for stable jobs to support themselves and their families. That’s why we are partnering with local organizations and state officials for two job fairs.

Tomorrow from 1p.m. to 4p.m., the Frederick County Building Industry Association and Frederick County Workforce Services will hold a Skilled Trades Job Fair at the Great Frederick Fairgrounds. You can learn more and register here [link removed].

On Tuesday, March 18, from noon to 4p.m., we will hold a Rebuilding Careers Job Fair and Hiring Event. You can learn more here [link removed] . I am grateful to the Maryland Department of Labor, Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Frederick for their partnership on this important event.

While Trump and Elon are playing a dangerous game of politics with people’s lives and livelihoods, here in Frederick County, we’ll keep working to support and protect our neighbors as we weather this storm together.
