In the Kansas City area, some 30,000 federal workers roll up their sleeves every day to protect the American people and deliver the benefits that families are entitled to.

But because of the actions of the Trump Administration and its so-called “Department of Government Efficiency,” over 1,000 federal workers in the Kansas City area have been let go from their jobs. Now, communities across KS-03 are already experiencing the consequences of the President’s sweeping, indiscriminate job cuts:

Wait times for government services have ballooned. Veterans have been let go from their jobs. Workers charged with responding to emergencies and natural disasters have been fired. And local officials are even worried that layoffs could hit the Kansas City FBI office, making our communities less safe.

Listen, Sharice understands that our government can be made more efficient and effective. But vilifying civil servants is not the solution. Terminating high-performing workers is not the solution. And weakening government agencies, instead of investing in them, is not the solution.

It’s abundantly clear that Donald Trump and Elon Musk are working to freeze the functions of government and inflict chaos on the American people, all for personal and political gain. But Sharice Davids is fighting back.
