Friend — There’s been a lot of talk about Medicaid in the last few weeks, so I thought it would be good to set the record straight with three quick facts.
FACT: Medicaid is a highly successful program that has kept millions out of extreme poverty, with 1 in 5 Americans currently receiving Medicaid coverage.
FACT: Polling shows that an overwhelming, bipartisan majority of Americans support Medicaid, and over 80% say they don’t want to see any cuts to the program.
FACT: The Republicans in control of Congress are currently pushing through a spending plan that would severely cut Medicaid funding and leave millions without the life-saving healthcare they rely on.
Friend, it’s simple really. Trump and the GOP want to take crucial benefits away from working class Americans so they can fund their far-right agenda and pass more tax cuts for the super-rich. It’s just the facts.
I am doing what I can to oppose this plan in Congress, and I hope I can count on your support. It will take grassroots action to stop this plan in its tracks.
