This campaign has been an incredible journey.

It’s hard to believe everything has come down to today, Election Day. We’ve done, by most accounts, incredibly well for a non-corporate-backed campaign. But I’m not that surprised and can see why our movement has resonated with so many Iowans.

We are part of a larger movement that is standing up to the Powers That Be, saying “enough” and working hard to make sure there are far more regular working people in positions of power in this country.

Right now, Americans and citizens all over the world have taken to the streets to protest and to communicate that the status quo is no longer acceptable. We want justice for George Floyd and for all black and brown people who have been attacked, discriminated against and terrorized because of the color of their skin. And we want things to change forever -- and that is no easy task.

This fight for justice is difficult and the journey never stops, but it’s why we’re here.

I knew going in that I would be the underdog in this fight. But I also know that nothing ever changes if we don’t try.

I don’t have Super PACs. I don’t have the backing of the DSCC or any corporations or corporate lobbyists. But I have you, millions of Americans who believe every American should be able to live a life of health and dignity, and the strength of this movement behind me.

I want you to remember that this movement for justice and for lives of health and dignity was never about one Presidential candidate or one U.S. Senate race. Let’s keep going!
