We are witnessing a coordinated effort to turn back progress—to erase history, to limit conversations about race, and to weaken policies that advance racial justice. But we know that this moment is not new.

Throughout history, resistance has been rooted in knowledge, collective power, and the courage to keep going. Our trainings create the space for you to sharpen your racial equity practice, connect with others in the movement, and build the skills needed to counter injustice.

Building Racial Equity (BRE)

This is the “foundational” training of Race Forward’s Racial Equity Training Series. Participants will be introduced to essential concepts, frames, and tools to strengthen racial equity practices for themselves, their organizations, and their networks. This is one of two-course options required to begin our Racial Equity Training Series.

Governing for Racial Equity (GRE)
Next session — April 3

This training introduces the role, responsibilities, and opportunities for government to advance racial equity by normalizing racial equity as a core value. Participants will explore the history of race, racism, implicit and explicit bias, and how these factors impact the workplace.

NOTE: This is one of two course options required to begin our Racial Equity Training Series.

Decision-Making for Racial Equity (DRE)
Next session — April 30

This training uses Race Forward’s Racial Equity Decision-Making Tool to support building organization-wide racial equity decision-making practices and cultures that center Black, Latinx, Asian American, Indigenous, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander staff and communities.

Power Building for Racial Equity (PRE)
Next session — April 29

The Power Building for Racial Equity (PRE) workshop dives into how power shapes both systemic racism and the path toward racial justice. While systemic racism operates through hierarchical and oppressive power, achieving racial justice requires building power that is inclusive, collective, and liberatory. This workshop offers a space to explore how to transform power structures in your racial justice work, both within organizations and in the wider community, equipping you with insights, strategies, and tools to drive intentional, just change.

Facilitating for Racial Equity (FRE)
Next session — March 25-26

This training gives a behind-the-scenes view of how racial equity workshops are structured, built, and delivered. Participants will become familiar with equity-focused facilitation, naming social dynamics, and guiding group learning in multiracial spaces.

Our Learning Labs are three-hour, standalone, highly interactive sessions that fit seamlessly into your workday. Led by expert facilitators, these labs cover diverse topics  and are perfect for exploring specific areas of interest without a full-day commitment. Take a Learning Lab before, after, or alongside our full-day trainings for a well-rounded, practical approach to racial equity learning. No prerequisites needed; just bring your curiosity and commitment!

Housing Justice is Racial Justice

In this training for housing justice advocates, government employees, and community members, Race Forward’s Housing and Land Justice Initiative will share lessons and resources from and for the movement for housing and racial justice.
