Dear Fellow Young Democrat,

I must start by addressing the overwhelming frustration many of us feel after these past few weeks. It sucks, and the hard truth is this: NO ONE is coming to save us.

I wouldn’t blame you for wanting to check out—unsubscribe from emails, unfollow social media, disengage altogether. But I implore you: do not accept the chaos we are witnessing as normal. It is far from normal.

I am writing to my fellow Indiana Young Democrats to make one thing clear: NO ONE is coming to save us.

I’m baffled by the silence from the Indiana Democratic Party in the face of relentless attacks from Indiana Republicans—attacks designed to erode our freedoms and dismantle public institutions.

I’m angry at the complacency of Democratic incumbents who take their seats for granted.

I’m disappointed in the lack of leadership from candidates vying to lead our party for the next four years.

And I’m heartbroken for the tens of thousands of young Hoosiers who feel hopeless about Indiana’s future.

It is painfully clear: NO ONE is coming to save us.

With the reorganization process for our party beginning, IYD members deserve to know where I stand.

To quote Logan Roy from HBO’s Succession: "These are not serious people.” And I am not impressed. If anyone expects me to sign off on another four years of the past 20, they are in for a disappointment.

It is not enough to post on social media. It is not enough to send press statements that go nowhere. It is not enough to assume things couldn’t get worse in Indiana.

NO ONE…IS COMING…TO SAVE US.

So, to every young Hoosier reading this: step up. Run for office. Seek leadership within the Democratic Party.

Because if there is one thing I have learned in my 30 years in Indiana—20 of those under Republican dominance—it is this: we are the ones we have been waiting for.
