# [#]As we celebrate Black History Month, we must reflect on the sacrifices and accomplishments of Black Americans who left an unwavering mark on our history.
Every facet of our nation’s rich culture and society has benefited from the contributions of Black Americans, from the arts to our country’s continuous developments in the field of science.
Donald Trump’s actions to dismantle Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs and reverse fundamental civil rights legislation over the last few weeks go to the very heart of our democracy.
His anti-DEI push even overturned a 1965 executive order that forbade federal contractors from discrimination. It brings us back decades of progress toward an equitable society for all.
We cannot continue to look past the inequalities and social injustices prevalent in our country–we must continue fighting for a fair and inclusive democracy where everyone can thrive.
Trump’s actions show that the fight for civil rights is far from over—we must remain vigilant and committed to justice. I will never stop fighting for fairness and justice for all.
Our nation wouldn’t be where it is today without Black Americans, and we must recognize the struggle they still face every day and honor the achievements they have made to our country.
