This is a hard time for everyone, John, and with new efforts to undo hard-earned environmental wins it’s clear that we have a long fight ahead. But we must stay focused and capitalize on every opportunity to defend the health of our people and planet.

That’s why I want to share a great opportunity to do just that. EPA is accepting public comments on a proposal that would set stronger limits on Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) pollution from gas power plants and industrial sources – a move that would protect communities from health-harming air pollution. To make the standards as protective as possible, the EPA needs to hear from clean air activists like you!

NOx emissions are a big deal. These dangerous pollutants. are linked to asthma, respiratory infections and increased hospital visits as well as contributing to smog and soot. And for our most vulnerable populations, including children and the elderly, it can be deadly.

That’s why we need to show strong support for stronger safeguards that will cut NOx emissions from its biggest sources – gas-fired power plants and other industrial facilities. EPA’s newly proposed standards would do just that, updating much needed limits that will protect millions of people across the country for the first time in nearly 20 years!
