Friend – These have been a rough few weeks. From threats to the rights of federal workers, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ communities, we are now on the defensive, fighting for what is rightfully ours. But these weeks have made our commitments clearer than ever. The truth is, we love D.C. We love D.C. culture. We love D.C. people. And in D.C., we love fairness, justice, freedom, and the preservation of our civil rights and civil liberties. At the ACLU-D.C., we fight for what we love. Today, we invite you to join our fight and to show your D.C. love. Please join us for a social hour with drinks and appetizers as we come together to celebrate and honor outstanding people defending civil rights and liberties in D.C.
At this year's celebration, we will honor these community members with awards:
ACLU-D.C. depends on the generous support of community members to ensure that we can keep up the fight for our civil rights and liberties. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you on Tuesday, May 13. Thanks for sticking with us ACLU of the District of Columbia |
