DOGE is shaking up Washington, D.C. in a way that has been badly needed for decades! President Trump made a great move in tapping Elon Musk to help spearhead the effort and they are uncovering waste, fraud, and abuse in record time.
And in Arkansas, we've been looking to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in state government from my first day in office. That's why last year we established Arkansas Forward - our own DOGE-like initiative where we have already identified $300 million of savings in taxpayer money…and we’re just getting started!
The Arkansas Forward initiative is taking a comprehensive look across all state agencies, encompassing over 300 initiatives across 15 departments. We're focusing on reforms in areas including information technology, state purchasing, state vehicle fleets, state employee compensation, and state-owned buildings. We're also renegotiating statewide contracts for better pricing. We know we can save hardworking taxpayer money, all while improving state government services.
With DOGE at the federal level, and Arkansas leading the way at the state level, I know we will significantly reduce the burden of government bureaucracy, end waste and fraud, and return more taxpayer money to the people.
