Through all the anguish and uncertainty, people are making a point to participate in our democracy at its most fundamental level: by voting today.
Dear John,
Our country and its people are in pain. Yet through all the anguish and uncertainty, we’re seeing people make a point to participate in our democracy at its most fundamental level: by voting. That trust must be honored and kept safe, and at Verified Voting, we are doing our part to ensure that elections are secure and verifiable, and all votes are counted accurately.
As voters go to the polls today in 9 states and Washington, DC, Verified Voting will be monitoring the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline to identify systemic technology failures and suggest remedies both in real time and for November’s election.
If we want to ensure that every voter can have confidence their vote has been counted as cast this November, we need to have a trustworthy voting record in place every step of the way: from ballot tracking to robust post-election audits. That’s why we work with election officials to offer help implementing security best practices, even as we applaud their ongoing work in meeting the challenges presented by a global pandemic.
What happens in the aftermath of today’s primaries will play a major role in determining what will happen in November’s election -- a mere five months away. To make the most of these next crucial weeks, we need your help now to ensure the election is secure and verifiable, and that every voter’s voice can be heard.
