Dear John,
In case you missed our email earlier this week, we are joining our partners at End Rape On Campus [[link removed]] (EROC) in organizing a National Call-In Day TODAY to urge our senators to vote NO on Linda McMahon’s nomination for Secretary of Education.
We need you to take action and protect the future of public education and survivors’ rights. Take 5 minutes TODAY Thursday, February 13 to call your senator!
Linda McMahon has no experience in public education, has serious allegations of her covering up knowledge of a sex trafficking ring, and has a troubling history of opposing LGBTQ+ rights, while also prioritizing corporate interests over student well-being. As Secretary of Education, she could dismantle critical protections for student survivors of sexual violence and weaken the public education system. We cannot allow this to happen.
How You Can Help:
1. Call Your Senators today - Find your Senator’s phone number at Senate.gov [[link removed]] and use the script on page 2 of this guide [[link removed]] to urge your senator to vote NO on Linda McMahon’s nomination.
2. Spread the Word - Encourage your community members to call their senators today and demand they oppose McMahon’s nomination too. Share our call-in guide [[link removed]] and sample script [[link removed]] on social media, newsletters, and group chats.
3. Engage your Network - Ask students, faculty, parents, and allies to join the movement.
Your voice matters. Together, we can stop this dangerous nomination and protect students’ rights.
Thank you for your participation and commitment to justice.
