Last week, some news broke after we sent this note below on the GOP trying to overturn an election in North Carolina: a state court rejected the Republican candidate’s attempt to invalidate over 60,000 ballots.
But this isn’t over. The GOP candidate is still refusing to concede and has appealed the ruling. Here’s A.G. Holder’s take on the ruling and what needs to happen next:
“The state trial court treated these hollow anti-democracy claims just as any court must — by rejecting them. North Carolinians have spoken through their legally cast ballots, the votes have been recounted multiple times, the state Board of Elections has rejected these claims, and now a state court has considered the issue in full and done the same. This arrogant and dangerous attempt to circumvent the will of the people must end — now. It is simply time to accept the results of this fair election. ”
