Late on Friday, he issued an order directing the attorney general to review all orders, regulations, guidance, plans, international agreements, and other actions to “assess any ongoing infringements of the Second Amendment rights of our citizens.”

It’s clear that we are mere weeks away from losing the significant headway President Biden and his gun safety administration made over the last four years. Already, the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention has been all-but-officially expunged, and Republicans in Congress are trying to get rid of the ATF—the primary federal agency in charge of enforcing our nation’s gun laws.

Trump’s actions threaten hard-won gun violence prevention progress on all fronts, including ghost guns, machine gun conversion devices, and gun crime.
