Happy Black History Month, folks.

While February is a time to celebrate and honor Black leaders and activists who have built and shaped our country from the ground up, this month also serves as a reminder of our commitment to uplifting Black voices and fighting for justice and equality.

There have been countless attacks recently on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Republicans have made it clear that they will baselessly blame DEI policies before taking any sort of accountability for their actions.

Well I’m not going to stand for that. Too many people have fought too hard for us to move backwards.

As a member of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee and the Education Committee in the House, you have my word that I’m going to continue to push for equity initiatives and hold the line.

I hope we take some time this month to remember all of the brave Black trailblazers who paved the way, reflect on how we can do better, and celebrate the Black community and culture for making America the nation that it is and aspires to be.
