Yesterday, I spoke on the Senate floor to plead with my colleagues to vote against confirming Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Even though RFK Jr. holds extremist, dangerous views on health care and entirely lacks the qualifications to lead HHS, my Republican colleagues bowed down to Donald Trump and voted to confirm him this morning.

Under RFK Jr.'s leadership, the roughly 80 million Americans who depend on Medicaid coverage will suffer. People with disabilities and chronic illnesses whose prescription drugs are about to become more expensive will suffer. Our children who need vaccines to avoid preventable illnesses like whooping cough and measles will suffer, because according to our new head of HHS, “no vaccine is safe and effective.”

While I’m deeply disappointed in my Republican Senate colleagues for confirming this unqualified, unfit man, I’m not backing down. Today is day one of RFK Jr.’s tenure as Secretary of HHS, which means we have to hold him accountable—starting right now.

If you’re with me in this work, please contribute $5 to my campaign today.
