John,

On his first day in office, Donald Trump rolled back Civil Rights-era anti-discrimination protections first issued by Lyndon B. Johnson. I refuse to let him turn back the clock, which is why I’ve introduced a new bill to enshrine the LBJ order into law.

For 60 years, Republican and Democratic presidents alike have agreed that taxpayer money shouldn’t bankroll workplace discrimination. Now, the precedent has gone out the window with the new administration:

President Trump’s reckless rollback of equal opportunity protections turns back the clock on six decades of civil rights progress. I will not stand for it.

I am working to restore critical safeguards for contractor employees, ensuring they don’t face illegal discrimination in hiring processes and the workplace. Our government should set the standard for equal opportunity, and I will not stand by while this administration undermines the rights of women, Black Americans, and marginalized communities.

The fight for fairness in the workplace is far from over. Will you help support me in the fight against discrimination and to protect our rights by rushing $5 today?
