It's been seven years since the deadly massacre in Parkland, but unless we take action to end gun violence now, the next tragedy could happen anywhere. Will you join us in honoring the victims of Parkland by responding to our live survey and putting pressure on our leaders in Washington?

Should Congress ban assault weapons?
|
|
John, my daughter, Jaime, was killed exactly seven years ago today. At only 14 years old, she was shot and killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
|
Jaime was gunned down in the hallways of her school with an AR-15-style semi-automatic weapon. It took the shooter just six minutes to kill my daughter and 16 others.
|
That weapon of war had no place in my daughter's school, in my community, or in the hands of a civilian.
|
I'll never be able to get my daughter back, John. But I do have the power to fight with everything I have so that no more of our children are killed by weapons of war. And you do too.

To mark seven years since the Parkland shooting, I'm helping Brady reach 7,000 responses on their assault weapon survey. Please, before our survey deadline at midnight tonight, will you respond to show Washington that people are ready for change?

Should Congress ban assault weapons?

Congress had the power to save my daughter by banning assault weapons and passing other long-overdue gun safety reforms. But they refused to act — and unfortunately, my daughter is just one of hundreds who have been killed because of their inaction. From Uvalde to Nashville to Perry to Atlanta, there have been hundreds of school shootings since Parkland.

Gun violence is rising. Our leaders in Washington have the power to stop it. But they will only take action if we raise our voices as one to demand it. I've spent every day since losing Jaime fighting to save other kids just like her.
But now, Donald Trump’s administration has already taken devastating action against gun safety by shutting down the Federal School Safety Clearinghouse External Advisory Board, which was created after the Parkland shooting to share resources and best practices related to school safety.
During Trump’s first term, guns became the #1 cause of death for children, fueled by lax laws. We must end this nightmare.

Today, will you help me honor Jaime and the 16 other victims from Parkland by calling on Washington to finally ban assault weapons? Brady needs another 652 responses to hit our goal, so please, raise your voice now:
