John, it’s Mark.
I’m voting against this partisan funding bill that the House passed on Tuesday.
As the Trump Administration and Elon Musk blow up critical agencies that millions of Americans depend on, I can’t just give them a pass.
Whether it’s NOAA and the National Weather Service, and cuts that undermine our ability to forecast and anticipate things like the forest fires that impact my state.
Or Social Security, where Elon’s making illegal changes and cutting staff and services that will impact seniors who need those checks to get by.
Or the VA, which gets shortchanged by billions in the budget the House passed, and would cut funding from Veterans receiving treatment and care they earned — services we made a vow to provide.
I can’t vote for that. And I definitely won’t vote to give unchecked power to Donald Trump and Elon Musk. I cannot give my permission when they’re firing thousands of veterans, and imposing inflation-causing tariffs on Arizonans and Americans.
If Republicans do away with this “my way or the highway” approach, we can work together to fund the government.
That’s what we need to do to move our country forward, and that’s what I’m going to be pushing for in the days and weeks ahead.
Thanks for reading,
Mark
