Republican leadership is discouraging GOP representatives from hosting town halls. In case you had any doubts, Zach Nunn of IA-03 hasn’t hosted a town hall once since he was sworn into office in 2023.
Luckily, there’s always a Democrat ready to step up when Republicans fall short.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has made a promise to use his platform to show up to districts where Republican representatives refuse. And good news for Iowans: He’s hosting a town hall in Des Moines tomorrow March 14! We know there’s energy because we’ve had over 1,000 RSVPs and our venue is at capacity in less than 24 hours after the announcement!
IDP is ready to welcome Governor Walz to our state with open arms. His presence is the perfect way to close out the week after we made up serious ground in Tuesday’s special election.
Governor Walz is helping build our Democratic momentum, but hosting guests and town halls isn’t cheap. We don’t have the budget of a congressional office, and between staff time, rentals, and security, it takes a lot of resources to put on an event like this.
That’s why we’re asking for your help. Before Governor Walz steps foot in Iowa tomorrow, will you chip in $25 to help us fund this event and more like it in the future?
We’re making progress day by day. Thank you for being a part of our team.
