[1]Alex Padilla for Senate

Friend,

I wanted to let you know that I’m voting NO on the Republicans’ spending bill — and there are two main reasons why:

It gives Trump and Elon Musk a bigger chainsaw to cut down any part of the government they don’t like.

It’s missing the disaster relief resources California and other disaster-stricken states are counting on to rebuild.

I will not vote to give more power to Trump and his unelected billionaire friends like Elon Musk, while hanging Californians out to dry. I am voting NO.

I’ve said before — The best path forward is to pass a 30-day funding bill to prevent a government shutdown, while we negotiate a longer term bill to fund the government in a way that doesn’t cut critical programs, and ensures California has what we need to rebuild after the devastating L.A. County fires.

Thank you, and I’ll be in touch with more information on the path forward soon.

- Alex
