john,

This is what democracy is supposed to look like: Late February, Kim held a town hall attended by more than 14,000 people. Constituents from across the district showed up, asked questions, and made their voices heard—because Kim believes that real leadership means listening to the people she represents.

And this is what democracy should never look like: Republicans are so afraid of their own constituents that they’ve stopped holding town halls altogether. Why? Because every time they do, voters demand answers for Trump’s reckless cuts to critical programs, the gutting of federal agencies that leaves workers in limbo, and the GOP’s extreme, out-of-touch agenda.

Instead of taking responsibility, Republican politicians have decided their best course of action is to simply stop listening altogether. But that’s not how this works. Elected officials are supposed to answer to us. Kim values hearing directly from the people she serves—because she knows that’s her job. She fights for families, workers, farmers, and seniors every day in Congress, and she will never run away from the tough conversations that come with leadership.

Now, this Friday at midnight, we're coming up on a critical mid-month fundraising deadline. We need to raise $10,000 to show that voters stand with leaders like Kim—leaders who listen, who show up, and who fight for the people they serve. If you believe Congress should answer to the people, not just the powerful, will you chip in right now to help us close our fundraising gap and fight back?
