Hi John,
Every year, we ask our community to submit their ideas for panels and trainings for Netroots Nation, and wow, did this community come through — 293 panel proposals and 220 training proposals, for a total of 513 submissions this year.
Now comes the hard part of this process as we need to narrow those down to about 120 to present at this summer's conference in New Orleans. Could you help?
All submissions are evaluated by committees of community members like you. We are currently categorizing the submissions into smaller groups of 40-60 submissions, which we will send out to our evaluation committees next week. Currently, about 100 people have signed up to help, but we would love about 50 more volunteers.
Sign up to help us evaluate sessions.
Assignments will be made next week. Evaluators will have about 10 days to read and evaluate your group. Using our submission portal, it takes about 3-5 hours to read, score, and comment on your assigned sessions. While it does take some time and effort, it is very rewarding, and you will get a sneak peak at a portion of what goes into putting together the agenda each year.
If you are willing to give us a hand, sign up here before the end of the day tomorrow (Friday, March 14), and we will add you to the list. Note that if you submitted a session, you can still help evaluate.
Thanks for your help!
Eric Thut
