John, I know it can feel like we are in a dark time right now. That’s what I’ve heard from a lot of folks in our communities and in our neighborhoods, and you’re probably feeling it too. The thing I’ve always known about darkness is that though it is a little scary, it also makes it easier to reach out and grab someone’s hand. The actions of the Trump administration have caused unnecessary confusion, instability in our economy, and a great deal of fear. But as long as I am in this office, I will continue to be there for the people of Maryland. I ran for governor because I believe no one should be left behind. It is at the heart of our agenda. Our proposed budget will make taxes fairer for nearly two-thirds of Marylanders, support small businesses and create more jobs, and lift thousands of children out of poverty in our state. We’re standing up to the instability in Washington, D.C. to bring more relief to Marylanders, not more hardships. That is what real governance looks like — leading with the knowledge that the antidote to chaos is calm.
Thank you. Take care of each other. Take care of yourselves. And I’ll talk to you soon. Elevate, Wes |
