Take Action: Demand a NO Vote on the Year-Long Continuing Resolution
Last night, the House passed a dangerous continuing resolution (CR) – a temporary funding bill that keeps the government open but grants the Trump Administration unchecked power to move federal funds without Congressional approval. This reckless bill jeopardizes Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities by putting critical programs in education, healthcare, immigration, and economic security at risk.
TAKE ACTION NOW
The Senate must VOTE NO on this bill. Congress must reject this year-long CR because it strips away essential safeguards and hands excessive control over federal spending to the Trump administration. Here’s why:
  • More Money for ICE, More Deportations – This CR increases ICE’s budget by $500 million, bringing it to a staggering $10 billion, which could lead to more deportations and family separations.
  • Cuts to Essential Programs – While ICE receives a massive funding boost, programs supporting veterans, public schools, and child welfare face severe cuts.
  • No Oversight on Government Spending – The CR removes key protections that ensure federal funds are used fairly and responsibly, allowing spending with little to no accountability.
  • Harms the Most Vulnerable – Without oversight, billionaires and private prison companies could benefit while working families and communities suffer.
Now is the time to act. Senators need to hear from their constituents. Call and email them today to demand a NO vote on this CR. See below for a script and a pre-written message to urge them to reject this bill.

-----------
Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a constituent from [Your City, State].

I’m calling to urge Senator [Last Name] to vote NO on the year-long continuing resolution (CR) and instead support a short-term funding proposal that protects critical programs and ensures responsible spending.

The House-passed CR gives the Trump administration unchecked power over federal spending, putting essential programs at risk while boosting ICE funding by nearly $500 million, bringing its budget to $10 billion—fueling more deportations and family separations.

At the same time, this proposal slashes funding for veterans’ services, K-12 education, and other essential programs while eliminating crucial oversight mechanisms that ensure accountability in government spending.

I urge the Senator to vote NO on the full-year CR and instead back a responsible solution that protects families, communities, and the federal workforce.

Thank you for your time.
