Ceres brought businesses to Capitol Hill for LEAD 2025. Now Republican support for clean energy incentives is growing.
[Image alt text: Ceres logo] < [link removed] > Dear John,
Earlier this week, 21 Republican members of Congress wrote a letter to House leadership, plainly stating their support for maintaining federal clean energy tax credits that have, since 2022, unlocked hundreds of billions of dollars of investment in clean energy manufacturing and deployment in communities across the nation. Coming as Congress dives into the tax code as part of the budget reconciliation process, this strong show of support is incredibly timely, and it demonstrates the impact of private sector advocacy.
The letter didn’t come out of nowhere. Last week, 80 major companies took to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. to meet with Republican lawmakers as part of LEAD on a Clean Economy < [link removed] > .Their statement was unambiguous: businesses are relying on the tax credits and the immense economic, financial, and national security benefits they are delivering. Participating companies included Carrier, Danone, DHL, dsm-firmenich, Ecolab, Ford Motor Co., Franklin Energy, Heirloom Carbon, HASI, Holcim, IKEA US, Lucid, Lutron, Michelin, Schneider Electric, Sealed, Siemens, and Workday, among others.
Look no further than that letter to see the immense impact of these meetings. The leading businesses we work with are highly credible, persuasive, and respected across the political aisle. Ceres is uniquely positioned to bring their perspective to the most important lawmakers on Capitol Hill. We are incredibly proud to have supported their efforts at LEAD on a Clean Economy at such an important moment to defend the nation’s landmark clean energy policy.
As the budget negotiations take further shape, we will continue to bring leading businesses to Capitol Hill to make sure their voice is heard loud and clear by the most important lawmakers and build bipartisan support for the nation’s most important clean energy policy. Thank you,
