On April 6th, #TeamChoice - a dedicated team of 10 incredible BPAS staff and supporters will take on the London Landmarks Half Marathon – running 13.1 miles to defend and expand reproductive rights at a critical time.
💥 This is no small feat. Training for a half marathon takes months of preparation, dedication, and endurance – much like the ongoing fight for reproductive rights. Every step they take is a step towards a future where everyone can access the care they need.
💜 Donate to #TeamChoice – Help them hit their fundraising target and power them to the finish line. Every contribution supports BPAS’s essential work.
Helen, BPAS Midwife
“I am running for #TeamChoice because I am really proud of the sensitive and high quality care we provide to women at vulnerable times in their lives. Supporting BPAS by running the LLHM, helps me to raise awareness of the important role that BPAS plays in the fight for women’s reproductive rights.
I would not call myself a natural runner, and the first time I ran a half marathon was 18 months ago where I injured my knee. My knee is so far feeling good, so from this perspective, my training is going well. I am running 3 times per week and increasing the long run steadily. Finding the time in between work and childcare is a challenge but the support from my work colleagues at the unit, who are interested in my updates, is really helping.”
Melissa, BPAS Sonographer “I have been working at BPAS as their Lead Sonographer for almost 4 years now and during that time, I have seen the organisation help and support so many women to make informed choices about their pregnancies, enabling them to access the care they need. I am running for #TeamChoice to not only give myself a personal goal, but to raise money and awareness for BPAS- an organisation that provides much needed healthcare to woman at a time when they are most vulnerable.”
With race day fast approaching, now is the time to rally behind #TeamChoice. Let’s show them they’re not running alone.
Together, we’ll cross the finish line to advance reproductive rights.
