Hi John,
This is Mari Vangen-Strom, Action Network’s Product Director, with our latest product update. As with all our new features, these were primarily chosen, brainstormed, and paid for by our Development Partners at MoveOn, the AFL-CIO, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC), and the Canadian Labour Congress — read more about our cooperative development process here. Check out our release notes to follow along with what’s new on Action Network.
Without further ado, here are the new features in this Action Network product release:
Mailstream
This powerful new feature is designed to help you control the number of emails an activist receives from your group in a single day. With Mailstream, you can group emails together for a given day and set their order of priority. If an activist is targeted by multiple emails, they’ll only receive the highest-priority email — no manual exclusions needed.
This makes it easy to send targeted messages to specific regions while sending a broader email to everyone else. Just add the emails to the Mailstream, arrange them in the right order, and refresh targeting all from one page.
Access Mailstream at the bottom of the emails tab or directly from the targeting page when sending an email.
A few other quality of life improvements for the email workflow:
-
Preview line testing: You can now test multiple preview lines from the same email just like subject lines and from lines. In addition we’ve added a character counter – industry standard is to stay under 90 characters. Happy testing!
-
Random limit update: You can now edit your random limit for the preview and send page. Often you set a random or test group size and then at the last minute you need to make it bigger or smaller. Instead of navigating back to the targeting page and resaving, you can make changes quickly and then hit send.
Rank Choice Question type
You can now add ranked choice questions in the form builder! Activists can rank options from top to bottom, with their rankings saved in custom fields upon submission. Another great addition to our surveys tool!
New Autoresponse Default for Actions
You can now add a step to update the default autoresponse when creating actions. By making it a bigger part of your action creation process we think you’ll be less likely to miss customizing it! This option can also be syndicated to child groups so you can make it the default for your whole network.
