The project to build nuclear reactors for the Dreadnought submarines – the next generation of Britain's nuclear weapons - has been graded as ‘unachievable’ by a recent watchdog report. This is the third year in a row – showing what a disaster the programme is. In total, at least £55 billion worth of nuclear weapons work have “serious issues”, underlying CND's arguments that not only is Britain's nuclear arsenal immoral, it's financially unsustainable and a grotesque waste of money that should be spent on tackling the climate emergency and fixing our public services. That's the message we'll be taking with us to the BAE Shipyard, Barrow-in-Furness, as we kick off our nuclear bases tour on Saturday, 22 March. We're asking supporters to join us there, so start making arrangements now! For more information on transport options from Manchester and Yorkshire, as well as a leaflet you can download and print out to help us build for the demonstration, go to our event page here.

We also invite you to join us on Wednesday, 26 February, for a webinar to discuss the role the Barrow shipyard plays in building the next generation of Britain's nuclear weapons, our government's reliance on militarism to secure economic growth, as well as the need for alternative employment opportunities to ensure jobs are secured as a part of a green transition.

Say no to ethnic cleansing in Gaza - March with us to the US Embassy!
This week Donald Trump continued to pressure world leaders to support his plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza for his “Riviera of the Middle East” real estate project and almost collapsed the fragile ceasefire deal that brought to an end 15 months of genocide. Join us back on the streets tomorrow, where we'll be marching from Whitehall to the US Embassy to demand the British government does more to oppose this grotesque plan and stand up for Palestinian rights.
- Saturday, 15 February 2025
- Assemble 12 noon, Whitehall
- Accessible route, assemble 1pm at Riverside Walk Gardens on the north side of Vauxhall Bridge
