We’ve had a lot of success in raising the resources we need to help candidates win their races in the past, but we’ve seen a real slowdown in our fundraising since election day.

VoteVets

John, Major General Paul Eaton, U.S. Army, retired and VoteVets Chair here.

As a team, we here at VoteVets made a huge call recently, and I’d like you to know about it.

Since her very first campaign, VoteVets has backed Abigail Spanberger. She’s one of our best — she represents everything this organization hopes to achieve. A strong, principled leader, stepping up at a moment when her state needs her most.

We knew we were going to back her campaign for governor in Virginia, but going into a period of uncertainty in the new Trump administration, we weren’t sure how much we could do. We’ve had a lot of success in raising the resources we need to help candidates win their races in the past, but we’ve seen a real slowdown in our fundraising since election day.

But, ultimately, we knew that this race was too important to stay on the sidelines. We made an important call, and decided to make the largest single donation to a candidate that we have ever made in the 20-year history of VoteVets. We’re all in for Abigail, and we’ve invested $500,000 to her campaign.

Now, whether or not we raise what we need to shore up our warchest is another question entirely. And, frankly, we’re being extremely honest with you now in the hopes that you will chip in and help us refill our coffers for the fights ahead.

The check is signed and delivered — the next part is up to you.

Can we count on you to make a donation to VoteVets? It’s essential that we face whatever comes our way on sound financial footing, and we’re hoping you can step up and make it happen.
