ADL noted, lost some of its initial language that was more specific “regarding protections against physical & verbal harassment of Jewish students.” The resolution does state that “The University Senate reaffirms its commitment to combating antisemitism and hate in all its forms and to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all members of our community,” and Howard Worman, a professor who introduced the bill, termed it a “small step in the right direction.” Amendments related to definitions of antisemitism were tabled, as was an amendment voicing concerns about deportations of students and faculty.

wildly one-sided resources about the Israel-Hamas war that the union posted online for teachers. Rep. Simon Cataldo, House co-chair of that commission, explained: "Dollar bills folded up into a star of David. Bestiality imagery tapping into Nazi-era stereotypes… Inciting violence against Jews … It’s pretty simple: we need to keep classically antisemitic so-called teaching material out of our kids’ schools. It’s incredible that the special commission even had to have a hearing about that." As ADL’s

The decision by the school, which it linked to security concerns about the event, comes after objections by the Mayor of Berlin and Israel’s Ambassador to Germany Ron Prosor, among others. In his email to the school, Prosor noted that he had been increasingly noticing "violence against Jewish students" there.

Australian Parliamentary Committee inquiry into antisemitism on university campuses has revealed a “toxic environment” where Jewish students and staff feel unsafe. Universities are finally being urged to take stronger action. The committee’s report included 10 recommendations, such as establishing a central office for handling antisemitism complaints, adopting a clear definition of antisemitism and improving transparency. The committee’s Chair, Josh Burns, criticized university leadership for failing to address incidents effectively, saying "[Jewish students] shouldn't be scared that if something does happen to them, that the universities won't take it seriously."

Organized by Tritons for Israel and Hillel San Diego, the festivities during Jewish American Heritage Month will feature an Israeli shuk, cultural exhibits, music and special events including a concert honoring victims of the Nova Festival attack, a comedy night and a lecture by journalist Yossi Klein Halevi. In addition to cultural engagement and interfaith outreach, students are improving the campus climate by advocating for Jewish studies courses and greater Jewish representation in student government. Hillel has also hired a community relations director to document antisemitic incidents and liaise with organizations like ADL.

Jewish Classical Education and its connection to Jewish thought in Western civilization. As the university’s William Imboden explained, “By making Jewish classical texts and history a core pillar of our curriculum, we’re creating a unique opportunity for students to understand how Hebraic ideas have shaped Western civilization and the American founding.” The program also includes a study-abroad program in Israel for university students.

2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver, an international competition for wounded military veterans. Anti-Israel activists have called for Israel’s removal. Organizers rejected the demands, affirming that Israeli participants are no longer serving in the IDF and that the Games focus on recovery, not politics. Israel has excelled in competition, winning gold in wheelchair basketball and securing medals in wheelchair curling and standing skiing. The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) praised the Games for fostering camaraderie and healing while condemning efforts to politicize them. Israel first joined Invictus in 2022, and this year’s edition marks the first inclusion of
winter adaptive sports in the event’s history.

Ancient Judean Crime Drama Unfolds. A

newly published Greek papyrus, the longest ever found in the Judean Desert, unveils a nearly 2,000-year-old legal drama in Roman-era Judea. The 133-line text details a criminal case involving forgery, tax evasion, and fraudulent slave transactions just before the Bar Kokhba revolt. The main defendant, Gadalias—an ancient Roman "bad boy" with a record of violence and rebellion—along with his accomplice Saulos, orchestrated elaborate schemes to dodge Roman law. Initially misclassified, the papyrus was correctly identified in 2014 and is now considered one of the best-documented Roman court cases from Judea, second only to the trial of Jesus.
