Dear friends,

For more than five decades, ACCESS has recognized Arab Americans whose contributions have left a lasting impact on our communities and beyond. This year, we are proud to honor Dr. Rami Nashashibi as the 2025 Arab American of the Year.

A Palestinian American community activist, academic, and artist, Dr. Nashashibi is the founding executive director of the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN), a Chicago-based nonprofit that advances social justice, provides direct services and fosters the arts in urban communities. His work has transformed lives by bridging racial, religious and socioeconomic divides, using holistic approaches to address systemic inequities.

A MacArthur "genius grant" fellow, Dr. Nashashibi has been a powerful advocate for justice, using scholarship, organizing and artistic expression to drive meaningful change. His unwavering commitment to empowering communities embodies the very spirit of this honor.

Join us in honoring his legacy at the ACCESS 54th Anniversary Dinner on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the Marriott at the Renaissance Center.

Stay tuned for more details as the event approaches!
