Legal Challenges Against the Trump Administration

Over the past few weeks, President Trump has signed dozens of executive orders that directly harm the American people — from revoking birthright citizenship, to pausing funding for lifesaving federal programs, to forcing the resignation of federal workers.

We stood up for Americans by challenging these reckless orders in court. So far, we've secured 17 rulings in our favor. We remain optimistic that the cases ahead will also be decided in our favor to ensure your protection.

Introducing the Rural Obstetrics Act

Over  2.3 million women live in maternity care deserts. This exacerbates chronic conditions such as hypertension, pre-pregnancy obesity, and diabetes. With few healthcare centers nearby, these women have to drive hours away to receive care during their pregnancy.

I introduced a new bill to create better health outcomes for these women and finally tackle the maternal mortality crisis. This includes creating an emergency training program for rural healthcare facilities and supplying them with necessary equipment. I am grateful to be working with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle and in the Senate to get this done.

Celebrating National Black Nurses Day

Underserved communities face barriers to access and a lack of representation within the healthcare system. Every day, Black nurses work on the frontlines to address these issues while improving cultural competency in medicine.

Last week, I celebrated the invaluable contributions these nurses make to the medical field. I look forward to continuing our collaboration to address health inequities in our country and create meaningful change.
