Dear Lowcountry,

Thank you for taking the time to read our weekly newsletter. Whether you're from South Carolina or another state, we're grateful you’re here! This is the best way to stay up-to-date with our legislative efforts, hearings, meetings, and everything else we're doing in the Lowcountry and Washington D.C.

Our Explosive Floor Speech to Expose Rapists, Peeping Toms, and Sex Traffickers

"In November 2023, I accidentally uncovered some of the most heinous crimes against women imaginable—rape, nonconsensual photos and videos of women and underage girls, and the premeditated, calculated, exploitation of innocent women and girls in my district."

On February 10, we took to the House Floor and delivered an almost hour long speech about sex crimes against women and girls in our district.

You can watch the full floor speech by clicking the video above or here. If you would like to get in touch with our office to learn more about our efforts to protect women, visit mace.house.gov/survivors.

We Offered a Resolution to Censure Representative Robert Garcia

In response to Representative Robert Garcia's inflammatory comments about needing "actual weapons" in a "bar fight" against Elon Musk, we offered a resolution aimed to formally reprimand Garcia for dangerous and violent vitriol. His words are the lowest form of political thuggery, and because it’s one of their own, the Left stays silent.

Robert F. Kennedy Confirmed As Secretary of HHS

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been confirmed as the Secretary of Health and Human Services, marking a significant step forward in our shared mission to "Make America Healthy Again."

Meeting With Medal of Honor Recipient

We met with Medal of Honor recipient Pat Payne, a Delta Force Sergeant Major. We had a long discussion about veterans' issues, and explored how we can further support our heroes back home.

We are committed to working with those who have served our nation and integrating their insights into our legislative agenda to support veterans’ health and well-being.

Legislating for the Lowcountry

H.R. 692, China Exchange Rate Transparency Act of 2025 – YES

This bill requires the U.S. Executive Director at the IMF to push for greater transparency on China’s exchange rate practices. It helps ensure the CCP is held accountable for its currency manipulation, which has harmed American manufacturing.

H.R. 736, Protect Small Businesses from Excessive Paperwork Act of 2025 – YES

This bill delays burdensome reporting requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act until January 1, 2026. It gives small businesses more time to comply and prevents unnecessary penalties.

H.R. 77, Midnight Rules Relief Act – YES

This bill strengthens congressional oversight by allowing multiple last-minute regulations from a lame-duck president to be overturned in one resolution. It helps rein in excessive rulemaking from federal agencies.

H.R. 35, Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act – YES

This bill establishes new criminal penalties for fleeing law enforcement in a vehicle within 100 miles of the U.S. border. It also bars offenders from entering the U.S. if they admit to or are convicted of this crime.
