A few days ago, Senate Republicans voted to confirm Tulsi Gabbard as Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence – a critical mistake that will threaten America’s national security.

Throughout the years, she has aligned herself with dictators like Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and former Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. Take a look:

She has denied U.S. intelligence reports that contradict her close relationships to authoritarians. She doubted mountains of evidence that the Assad regime in Syria was committing human rights violations against his own people. And she has tried to legitimize Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine even though Putin’s invasion violates international law.

It’s clear we can’t trust Tulsi Gabbard to direct the collection and analysis of national intelligence when she’s been so willing to ignore sources that go against her viewpoints, John.

It’s incredibly disappointing that, yet again, my Republican colleagues have put loyalty to Donald Trump over our country’s best interests.
