The source of hope in a time that seems hopeless.

“Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with Me. I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world" (Matthew 16:32b-33).

When our situation feels overwhelming, we can take comfort in God’s presence, and through Jesus we can overcome anything. Pray with us this prayer from Steve Douglass, president of Cru®, about hoping in God during times of crisis:
 
“Father, we want to grow even closer to You. Show us how to cope with this current crisis and experience Your peace. Please turn the despair related to the crisis into a dramatic new celebration of Your presence, power, love, grace, and provision. Give us great, new opportunities to minister despite the significant challenges. In the wonderful, matchless name of Jesus I pray. Amen.”

Praises and Prayers:
Praise that even during this pandemic, ministry is still happening, and people are still being shown the kindness and hope of Jesus.
Praise that we were able to help partners in Italy and New York with COVID-19 relief.
Pray for people in East Africa who do not have enough to eat due to the locust invasion that is destroying crops. Pray they will experience hope and comfort in this time and that God will make a way for them to receive the food they need.
Pray for those serving on the front lines during the COVID-19 crisis and for those suffering through illness, unemployment, and other challenges because of the virus. Ask God to reveal His hope in situations that feel hopeless.
Pray for repentance and reconciliation in the face of racial injustice that continues to divide the U.S. and the world.
