A Big Win for Texas Homeowners
SB4 [[link removed]][link removed]
I have been fighting to reduce property taxes long before I was elected to the Texas Senate. I have made increasing the Homestead Exemption my mission because it is the best way to deliver meaningful property tax reductions for homeowners.
When I became Lt. Governor in 2015, the Homestead Exemption was $15,000. Today, the exemption is $100,000—and $110,000 for seniors. In 2023, the $100,000 Homestead Exemption was permanently codified into the Texas Constitution when voters passed Proposition 4 with 83% of voters in support. This makes the $100,000 Homestead Exemption permanent, and homeowners will receive tax relief every single year, forever.
The Senate’s passage of Senate Bill 4, by Sen. Paul Bettencourt (R-Houston), which increases the Homestead Exemption to $140,000, and $150,000 for seniors, builds on last session’s historic success. Once signed into law and if voters approve the constitutional amendment proposition in November 2025, the $140,000 Homestead Exemption will be codified in the Texas Constitution forever.
Based on the unanimous 30-0 vote, it is clear Senators from both sides of the aisle understand that when an increased Homestead Exemption and more compression are combined, homeowners receive maximum tax relief benefit. I thank Sen. Paul Bettencourt for his hard work in carrying SB 4 and SJR 2.

President Trump Praises the Texas Senate's $1B School Choice Victory
Truth [[link removed]][link removed]
Last week, President Trump posted on Truth Social [[link removed]] he was watching what the Texas House does on school choice. Yesterday, Sen. Ted Cruz sent a note to every Republican Texas House member to vote for it. And last night, Elon Musk weighed in [[link removed]] on the House passing school choice.
Everyone is watching, including 80% of Texas Republican voters who support school choice.
Before this legislative session, the Texas Senate passed school choice five separate times, only for parents, senators, and me to watch each bill die in the Texas House.
Just last week, the Texas Senate and I passed school choice for the sixth time and sent it to the House.
For the first time in my 10 years as Lt. Governor, Texas has a Speaker of the House who’s committed to passing school choice.
This is great news for parents all across Texas. Let’s get it done.

Texas Will Always Defend Women and Girls
Finnerty [[link removed]][link removed]
President Trump took bold action to protect women’s sports by signing the executive order "Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports."
You cannot have men in ladies' locker rooms. I’ve fought for this in Texas, and I applaud President Trump for standing up for women and girls, too.
I joined Rob Finnerty on Newsmax to discuss this and more. Click here to watch the interview [[link removed]].
Thank you for all your support over the years and for everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
