House Republicans have released their budget and it equates to a full-scale government shutdown.

How do they fund nearly $5 trillion in tax breaks for the rich and corporations?

One way is by calling for $2 trillion in “mandatory spending” cuts. Since they won’t say it out loud, I’ll let you know what they mean. They want to steal $2 trillion from your earned benefits―Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

But that’s just the beginning. They’re attacking public education, nutrition assistance, as well as dismantling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which is critical in protecting us from corporate fraud and abuse.

This is what a billionaire takeover of our government looks like.

From funding freezes to defunding federal departments to trillions of dollars in budget cuts, Republicans are shutting down the government.

No, this isn’t a short-term government shutdown that could happen one month from now if Congress doesn’t pass a budget resolution. This is a full-scale assault on how government serves the people, from education to healthcare to nutrition to Social Security, and much more.

Yesterday, House Republicans released their budget framework, which is a massive giveaway to the billionaire class. They are seeking to cut trillions of dollars from critical programs to fund nearly $5 trillion in tax cuts for the rich and corporations.

Tens of millions of people would lose their healthcare coverage as states would be forced to create Medicaid waiting lists.

Tens of millions more would see their out-of-pocket expenses skyrocket as Republicans seek $230 billion in cuts to SNAP food benefits. They literally want to take food off of people’s tables and let children go hungry.

Are you worried about public education? Not only does the right-wing want to abolish the Department of Education (they recently introduced a bill to do just that!), they’re proposing $330 billion in cuts to the education budget. This attacks everything from Head Start to school meals to student loans.

But guess what they’re more than happy to find money for?

Republicans want to increase the Homeland Security budget by $90 billion and the Judiciary budget by $110 billion. Why? Because this will help fund Trump’s mass deportation machine.

They also found a whopping $4.5 TRILLION to fund a renewal of their tax scam for millionaires, billionaires, and corporations. While the wealthy will each get hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax cuts each year, you and I get the equivalent of a cup of coffee a day.

This is what a government of, by, and for the billionaires looks like.
