It provides billions of dollars in funding for K-12 public schools, manages federal student aid for millions of college students, enforces laws against discrimination in schools, oversees special education and early learning programs, and sets basic standards for education.

If Trump and Musk are successful, class sizes would explode, college tuition would skyrocket, job training programs would be slashed, and vulnerable students like those in special education programs would lose critical resources.

So why does Trump want to eliminate it?

Just like Governor Greg Abbott in Texas, Trump wants to dismantle our nation’s public school system to funnel money into the hands of wealthy families and private schools and re-allocate money to tax cuts for the rich. But we’re not going to let that happen…
