Britt, Tuberville join Rand Paul bill limiting power of unelected bureaucrats

<[link removed]>

U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt recently joined U.S. Sen. Rand
Paul in introducing a bill to help put power back in the people’s hands instead
of the "out-of-control administrative state."

Called the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, the
legislation would require congressional approval of any major rule with an
economic impact of $100 million or more. Any major rule drafted would require
approval by both chambers of Congress and then the president's signature rather
than automatically taking effect unless Congress specifically disapproves.

According to Britt, the bill would "literally rein in our out-of-control
administrative state," which she warned was harmful to Alabamians and wasting
taxpayer money.

Mexican cartels are smuggling Alabama red snapper – Tuberville, Britt fight
back with new law

<[link removed]>

With over 12,000 employees and an annual statewide impact of $1.1 billion,
Alabama’s fishing industry is vital to the state’s economic standing.

have been funding and backing fishermen who are catching American red snapper,
smuggling the fish back into Mexico, and then reselling it to American
consumers for often a cheaper price than fish caught by American anglers.

“Senate Republicans are committed to putting America first, which requires
legislation that protects hardworking Americans, including our tremendous Gulf
of America red snapper fishermen and food producers in Alabama,” said Britt.
